Sources

We rely on primary sources wherever they exist, in this order:

  1. The show's official website and its official ticketing pages, for dates, running times and age guidance.
  2. The lottery and rush platforms' own pages for each show, for prices, entry windows and limits.
  3. Theater operators' websites and TDF's theater pages, for addresses, capacities and access information.
  4. Published production records and announcements, for opening and closing dates and performance counts.

Where a primary source is silent, we use published listings and references (Playbill, TDF, BroadwayWorld, Broadway Scorecard and Wikipedia's lists of Broadway theaters and long runs) and name them on the page. Seat counts in particular differ between sources by a few seats; each theater page lists the other figures we found.

Each show, policy and theater page lists the sources it was checked against. Synopses are written by us, in our own words; we do not copy marketing copy, and we do not use show logos, artwork or photographs.

How often we check

Every running show and its ticket policies are reviewed weekly. Closing and opening announcements are added as soon as we see them. Theater facts change rarely and are reviewed at least once a season. Every page that shows a policy or a date prints the date it was last verified, so you can judge for yourself how fresh it is.

What "not published" means

When a show has not announced something, such as a running time during early previews or a closing date for an open-ended run, we say so in plain words rather than guess. A blank on this site is a fact we do not have yet, not a fact we made up.

When our sources disagree, for example on a closing date, we do not pick one quietly. The page says the date is not confirmed and its notes say which sources say what, until the show itself settles it.

Corrections

If you find a mistake, email hello@officebroadway.com with the page and what is wrong, and a link to your source if you have one. We check every report against the primary source, fix confirmed errors promptly, and update the page's last-verified date when we do.

Independence

We are not affiliated with any show, producer, theater owner, ticketing company or lottery platform, and nobody pays to be listed or to be listed higher. We do not earn money from ticket links. If that ever changes, we will say so on this page and next to any link that pays us.

What we leave out

We do not publish weekly box office grosses or attendance figures, and we do not review shows. There are good places for both; this site is for the facts you need to buy a seat.
